IMPORTANT CHANGES COMING FROM MICROSOFT
31 July 2002 is the last day before Microsoft Volume Licensing undergoes its final major change in the switch to new offerings. After that date, to access new versions of Microsoft software without already being enrolled in a licensing programme that includes software maintenance (Upgrade Advantage or Software Assurance), a new full Licence will have to be purchased for that software.
Until 31 July, users can purchase Upgrade Advantage or Software Assurance to receive software maintenance, which guarantees the rights to new versions of the software for the duration of the enrolment period. It will save your customers money compared to the cost of a full licence or a full licence plus Software Assurance, after 31 July 2002.
